Artist Statement

When creating my works, the most important thing is making sure my audience feels some sort of emotions towards the animation. Whether it's positive or negative, it gives me an understanding of both my strengths and weaknesses. I use the feedback that I get from my audience and improve the way I create my animations. In my abstract works of animation, I try to incorporate feelings of anxiety and fear. But beyond that I make sure that the audience creates their own meanings behind the work. Because everybody’s imagination is different, it is important that they create their own interpretation of my works.

For my process I use my drawing tablet and different softwares to make the animations stand out. I start off by thinking of a story for the film and create a storyboard to give a basic idea of how the animation should look. Then I record or find references of actions so that I can have a better understanding of anatomy and how things should move. Afterwards I do the lineart, coloring, editing, and finish it off with sound effects and voice acting. When showcasing my artwork, I would cast the animation onto either a wall or monitor. The dimensions for most of my works would be 1920 x 1080 and 24 fps (frames per second).
